President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed Decree No. 294, aimed at creating additional conditions for the development of trade in rural areas of eight districts. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Head of State.
This list includes Braslavsky, Vileyka, Horadok, Dubroŭna, Kastsiukovichy, Tsalachyn, Khotsimsk, and Sharkawshchyna districts. The decree allows trade entities, whose share in the volume of retail turnover within the specified districts exceeds 20%, to expand their trading areas.
Previously, Decree No. 297 "On Conducting an Experiment" of July 26, 2018, lifted a similar restriction in the Orsha district, which had a positive impact on the trade services for the population.
At the same time, the current decree establishes the possibility of increasing the trading area only after concluding an agreement with the relevant district executive committee on the organisation of trade services for the population and the mandatory coordination with the district executive committees of the routes of mobile shops engaged in trade in rural areas.
The decree also imposes personal responsibility on the heads of authorities for unsatisfactory trade services for the population, and on the heads of legal entities for improper organisation of retail trade.
The issuance of the decree will contribute to increasing the social responsibility of trade entities in rural areas, as well as improving the quality of trade services for the population in such territories.
