3 January, Minsk /BELTA/. Power supply in settlements of Vitebsk and Minsk regions affected by snowfall has been fully restored. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the Belarusian government. "As of 16:20, all consequences of snowfall in these regions have been eliminated," the press service noted. As reported, on January 1-2, in a number of districts of Vitebsk and Minsk regions, due to natural disasters (heavy precipitation in the form of wet snow and wind), power supply to a significant number of consumers was interrupted. In total, over two days in January, 2410 transformer substations, 1140 settlements, and 69 livestock farms were subject to emergency power outages. To eliminate the consequences of the disaster, power supply organizations of the Ministry of Energy organized round-the-clock work for repair personnel. A total of over 800 people, 198 teams, and 264 units of equipment (cranes, snow-clearing equipment, all-terrain vehicles) were involved. Restoration work was significantly complicated by a high snow cover, reaching 60-70 cm, and in some places over 1 meter, and by trees falling under the weight of snow onto power lines. The coordination of all restoration work was led by an operational headquarters established at the Ministry of Energy.-0-
