The Rules for Hunting Management and Hunting, as well as other regulatory legal acts governing hunting and hunting management, do not establish the maximum permissible shooting distances for game animals during the process of citizens' firearm hunting.

However, we draw attention to the need to strictly observe safety rules during hunting (Chapter 12 of the Rules for Hunting Management and Hunting), including prohibitions on shooting:
- at noise, rustling, at an unclearly visible target, in fog, heavy snowfall, twilight, against the sun, and under other conditions of poor visibility, as well as at flying birds below 2.5 meters in conditions of limited visibility;
- at a distance of less than 200 meters from the nearest building of a populated area, as well as being at this distance with a loaded hunting weapon;
- in the direction of people, populated areas, farm animals, vehicles from smoothbore hunting firearms at a distance of less than 500 meters from them and from rifled hunting firearms – less than 2 kilometers.
