Evgeny Slavich wants to be an example for his students and hopes that one of them will also perform at the international pop song performers' competition "Vitebsk" at the "Slavianski Bazaar". The young contestant told a BELTA correspondent about this right after his performance on the first competition day. Evgeny works as a vocal teacher at the Cherven Children's Art School, and while his students are on vacation, he is participating in the competition. "I want to be an example for them. I hope they are rooting for me and I am sure that one of them will also take part in this prestigious competition in a few years," he said. The charming and open Evgeny did not hide that the first performance was not easy. "I was very nervous, the stage is so big. But thanks to the audience's support, this nervousness quickly passed. I am quite satisfied with my performance and on the second day I will give my all with the orchestra," he assured. Today, the young singer will perform the song "To the Memory of a Musician" on the Summer Amphitheatre stage, accompanied by the National Academic Concert Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Finberg. The song was written by his vocal teacher Elena Atrashkevich. "This song is dedicated to all musicians: both those who are no longer with us and those who are with us - our teachers," he noted. Evgeny Slavich (real surname Dolich) is 23 years old. He graduated from the Minsk State College of Arts with a degree in pop performance. Currently, he is a student at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts and teaches at the Cherven Children's Art School, and collaborates with the production center "Spamash". Evgeny has been participating in concerts since he was 14. The young man was a member of the ensemble "Vivat", with which he performed on the stages of the Palace of the Republic and the Belarusian State Philharmonic. Evgeny is a laureate of the III prize of the IX Republican Competition of Pop Performers "BelAZ Accord" (Belarus, 2010), a laureate of the III prize of the Republican Competition of Young Pop Song Performers of the XI National Festival of Belarusian Song and Poetry "Molodechno-2011", and a laureate of the Republican Creative Competition "Young Talents of Belarus". Following the results of the first day of the pop song performers' competition, Slavich entered the top five, trailing the leaders by five points.-0-
