This confidence was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by Petr Lavrinov, Director of OJSC "Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Factory". In his opinion, the creation of the Eurasian Union will secure Russian and Kazakh markets for Belarusian exporters and allow them to operate stably. "The domestic market for dairy products is limited, while the markets of partners within the Single Economic Space are vast, and the conditions for working in them are familiar and understandable," emphasized Petr Lavrinov. For example, for Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Factory, which exports 60% of its products, the main foreign buyers are Russia and Kazakhstan. Demand for Belarusian products will grow, predicts the interviewee. "Measures taken by the state several years ago for the technical re-equipment of the dairy industry and support for agriculture allow domestic processors to feel confident in the common market and not fear competition. Belarusian enterprises, in terms of their technical re-equipment, meet Western European requirements, so the demand for their products is huge," he added. Demand, in turn, will lead to an increase in production volumes, which will ultimately affect the growth of employee wages. Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Factory traces its history back to 1932. The enterprise was incorporated in 1999, and its founder is the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The state owns 95.3% of the shares. The plant specializes in the production of hard rennet cheeses, butter, and dry whey. Based on the results of January-October 2011, the enterprise exported products worth almost $17 million, which is 37.7% more than in January-October 2010. By the end of the year, the enterprise intends to export products worth $20 million. The positive balance of foreign trade activities is preliminarily estimated at $18 million. -0-
