Every day, general education institutions host employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), who, as part of the "Focus on Children!" campaign, conduct thematic discussions with students, teachers, and support staff, and also speak at parent-teacher meetings.
All children are offered to learn safety rules in various emergency situations, and are also given advice on how to avoid these treacherous situations. Adults are trained to use primary fire extinguishing means, thematic discussions are held, and they are told about the necessity of installing autonomous fire detectors. Examples of fires at facilities and in the residential sector are provided, and the fire situation and resulting fatalities in the district, region, and the Republic of Belarus are communicated.
The screening of cartoons and films, the distribution of visual aids, as well as practical drills of school-wide evacuation plans, invariably draw the attention of children, educators, and parents to the importance and necessity of studying life safety rules.
