Belarusian scientists have achieved particular success in medicine. "One of the latest Belarusian developments is a line of next-generation anti-cancer drugs, the principle of action of which is that the preparation directly targets the cancer cell without affecting the living organism," said Alexander Shumilin.
According to the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, stem cell therapy in a specialized center, where over 200 people have already been treated, is a promising and cutting-edge direction.
In 2014, according to the innovation index, Belarus rose by 19 percentage points in European integrated indicators. The volume of exports of high-tech and science-intensive products by the SCST in the first quarter of 2015 amounted to $917.4 million.
