The opening of the exhibition "Farby Lepelshchyny" at the district museum of local lore became a significant event in the cultural life of Lepel region today.

The event has become a tradition in our district, held once every two years. But the most interesting thing is that this year the exhibition turned 30 years old, the first one took place in October 1993. Over the past years, more than 100 artists have participated in it, and the number of exhibited works is countless.
The jubilee exhibition brought together 26 authors. Some of them are just embarking on their independent creative path, while others are already well-known masters in Belarus and abroad.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by distinguished guests, including the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies Igor Urban, the organizers of this year's exhibition – members of the Belarusian Union of Artists, renowned masters Gleb and Anatoly Otchik, Vera Zakrevskaya, Olga Khatkevich, who were among the initiators of the exhibition's creation, the head of the culture department of the district executive committee Elena Borodeiko, and many others.
Artists, art lovers, friends, and acquaintances gathered to congratulate on the opening of the exhibition and its anniversary. Each of them spared no kind words, noting that Lepel region is proud of its masters.
Igor Gennadievich thanked the authors for enabling the residents of Lepel and the city's guests to see the world anew through their art, to appreciate the beauty of their surroundings. He also wished them perseverance and persistence in achieving their goals, creative inspiration, and great success.
The exhibition features artists (professional and amateur) whose work is connected with Lepel region, showcasing fine art, graphic works, sculpture, wood carving, and other forms of craftsmanship. Some were born and live here, others have recently come to Lepel, but all are united by their love for the Lepel region.
Each exhibition over the years has had its unique character. Speaking, many recalled how they prepared for the event 10, 20 years ago, where the exhibitions were held at that time, what difficulties and anxieties there were. And even if something didn't go smoothly back then, it was remembered with special warmth today. A presentation prepared by the museum staff helped to recall the highlights of previous exhibitions. Through video, the attendees were transported back to the distant years of 2003, 2011, 2017, andother years.
Over the past years, a certain tradition has developed and the main composition of participants has been determined. But at the same time, new artists participate in the event every time.
This is the specificity of the exhibition: it features not only those who have already inscribed their names in the history of the development of contemporary Belarusian art, but also those who are just taking their first steps into the art world.
It is gratifying that among the participants are teachers from the children's art school, as it is they who train the youth. Leaving the museum, I once again came to the conclusion that our nature is the most beautiful in the world, and the artists from Lepel are true professionals! After all, through their works, the authors sincerely and expressively conveyed their moods and impressions to us, with what tenderness and awe they treat their native nature.
Everyone who visits the exhibition will surely find something that is closest to them. There is no monotony here, no single composition is repeated twice.
Anna Sharkovskaya prepared a musical gift for all those present, performing well-known compositions on the cimbalom.
