December 27, Lepel /Own. inf./. In accordance with the modernization program for the dairy industry, a new dairy farm "Tselina" has been built on the lands of JSC "Lepel Rayagraservice" near Goraki. The facility is large and significant. It will give new impetus to the livestock breeding of the agricultural enterprise. The complex was erected quickly, in just over a year. Soon it will be filled with livestock, and the official launch will take place. The barns shine with cleanliness and new paint, all the equipment for milking, cooling, and product storage is new.
A closed production cycle has been implemented, meaning that milk is never left open, always remaining in sealed containers or pipelines. Two large refrigerators can quickly bring over ten tons of milk to the required temperature and store it for a long time, thereby preserving its important consumer qualities. All utility rooms: the boiler room, the rest room, the warehouses – are gleaming with new materials. It is pleasant to work here and to rest after a work shift. A milking parlor with 40 places has been installed on the farm. This innovation, as practice shows, helps to optimize the milking process while reducing additional costs. A total of 36.8 billion rubles were spent on construction and equipment purchase. The answer is simple – a loan, according to a targeted state program. The funds were provided by "Belarusbank" and "Development Bank". The funds are allocated for ten years, the interest rate is preferential, from 1.5 to 7.5%. It should be noted that Rayagorservice has already been repaying loans and interest for three months. The payback period of the complex is expected within five to seven years. How realistic this is can be calculated. The complex is designed for the simultaneous keeping of 826 dairy cows. With milk yields of 20 kilograms per cow per day, the gross milk yield should be 11.5 tons. This volume is currently accepted by the Milk Processing Plant at an average of 40 million rubles; monthly revenue should be around 1.2 – 1.3 billion. 150 – 200 million rubles per month will be required for the maintenance of the farm and personnel; the remaining funds should be sufficient for servicing the loans. On the one hand, the goal is achievable; milk yields of 20 kg per day are a realistic figure, with possible yields of 30 kg or more. However, currently, the average daily milk yield per cow in agriservice is the lowest in the district, amounting to just over six kilograms, so there is a lot of work for the livestock breeders. The cowsheds are built, the equipment is installed, and order has been established on the territory. However, this is not enough; milk will not appear on its own, solely from the equipment; high-yielding pedigree animals are needed. The management of Rayagorservice has decided to place heifers in the new cowsheds immediately upon opening and to start milking them as they calve. In the future, to increase the productivity of the milking herd, semen from Holstein-Friesian bulls will be used. This is a new breed characterized by high milk yields. At the same time, the role of zootechnical and veterinary services significantly increases, as they need to establish breeding work and cow care at the highest level. Over the last
There is a significant gap in the zootechnical and veterinary services of the enterprise. Old specialists are retiring, and young people are not staying in agriculture. We currently have only a chief zootechnician, who is already a pensioner, and a couple of inseminators. An application for six specialists has long been sent to the Department of Agriculture and Food, and we are waiting. Fortunately, the district veterinary and breeding stations are not abandoning us and are helping as much as they can. The best workforce is planned to be involved in the work at the new complex. Of course, all the necessary workers will not be found in the nearby village of Gorki, so we will have to transport them from elsewhere. For this purpose, Agroservice has purchased a GAZelle and a UAZ. In Gorki, under the agro-town construction program, several houses were built for agricultural workers, and some of their residents will undoubtedly be assigned to work at the new farm. However, this is not enough; the enterprise is interested in having as many workers as possible live close to their workplaces. Agroservice owns several old houses in Gorki. To populate them, major repairs are needed. In a conversation, Yury Mily considered this option as one of the main ones in resolving the housing issue for future employees.
The new dairy farm is not only a new asset but also a new level of work that must be strived for now.
