The upcoming festival is dedicated to the memory of Eduard Shchyry, Honoured Worker of Culture of Belarus and composer. Amateur academic choral groups (up to 30 people) and vocal ensembles (up to 15 people) will participate. The age of participants is 16-55 years. Those wishing to perform at the festival venue can submit applications from February 1 to March 16 to the email address belazfest@gmail.com. The festival directorate will select the participants, and they will receive special invitations.
Each group must present a competition programme not exceeding 12 minutes, which must include works by Eduard Shchyry (from the collection "Zhuravlіnаya dal" (Crane's Distance)), as well as 1-2 works of their choice. Preparation of the song "Belarus - Maya Lyubov" (Belarus is My Love) by Eduard Shchyry to the lyrics of Anatoly Kazyuka for performance by the festival's combined choir is also mandatory.
The festival of choral art "Ad Shchyraha sertsа" will be held on April 22-23 at the Palace of Culture of OJSC "BelAZ". Its programme includes a grand opening, a competition day, a gala concert, an award ceremony for participants, and a round table with the participation of jury members and mass media.
The event is organised by OJSC "BelAZ" - management company of the holding "BelAZ-Holding" and the Zhodino City Executive Committee.
Eduard Shchyry is known as a choral conductor and the founder of the Zhodino choral school. For many years, he managed to maintain the Belarusian automotive workers' chapel and the exemplary children's choir of the city House of Culture at a high creative level. Another area of Eduard Shchyry's creative activity was composing music. The composer died in 1999. In memory of his merits, the republican festival of choral art "Ad Shchyraha sertsа" is held in Zhodino.
