From March 17 to 19, the Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov (VSU) will host the festival of youth and students of the Union State.
The event will be dedicated to the Year of Historical Memory in Belarus and the Year of Folk Art and Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia. The organizers are the Smolensk regional public organization "Russian Union of Youth" (RSM) and VSU.
"The festival is held with the aim of supporting and popularizing contemporary creativity among students and youth of Belarus and Russia, creating conditions for the presentation and promotion of creative projects of the younger generation and experimental trends in art and creativity, and developing youth parliamentarism. 110 performers aged 18 to 30 will demonstrate their talents in performing, choreographic, and vocal genres," explained the VSU media center.
In addition to rehearsals, city tours, informal communication, and heartfelt guitar music sessions, an extensive educational and entertainment program awaits the participants. Dialogue platforms will be organized for the participants of the international forum, where young people will discuss pressing issues with speakers. The experts will include VSU Rector Valentina Bogatyreva, Chairman of the Smolensk RSM, Director of the Foundation for the Support of Protected Territories Evgeny Zakharenkov, and Chairman of the Board of the Republican State-Public Association "Belarusian Society 'Knowledge'" Vadim Gigin.
Master classes will also be held for students, with professionals in their fields acting as "coaches." For example, Moscow choreographer and participant of the TV project "Dances on TNT" Elizaveta Druzhinina will explain, and most importantly, demonstrate the distinctive features of modern dances. General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, Doctor of Arts Ekaterina Dulova will give acting master classes. And Gleb Lapitsky, Director of the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," will help those who wish to improve their vocal skills.
