The "Zvinyats' tymbaly i harmonik" festival in Postavy will be immortalized in stone, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the culture department of the Postavy District Executive Committee. The sculptural group, symbolizing the festival, was created by students of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts (Minsk) during a stone carvers' plein air event organized in Postavy during the forum. The composition features an extended accordion placed on a large boulder, with silhouettes of musicians – a man and a woman – protruding from the sides of the musical instrument. Nearby, a musical staff displays the notes of the festival's call sign. The grand opening of the monument will take place on June 9 near the Postavy Children's Art School. During the festive ceremony, the school will be solemnly named after Antoni Tyzenhauz. The international folk music festival "Zvinyats' tymbaly i harmonik" will be held this year from June 8 to 10. Approximately 500 guests and participants from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, and Kazakhstan will gather at the celebration. The forum's program, which includes numerous events, will be marked by a double anniversary: the festival will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its international status and the 130th anniversary of the birth of the classics of Belarusian literature, Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas. For the first time, the festival will host the "Knizhny fest" art competition among educational institutions of the district. A large book fair will offer a wide selection of publications by Belarusian authors, including contemporary ones. Professional and amateur folk music and song ensembles from various countries will perform on the creative stages of the city and district: the Zhinovich National Academic Folk Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, the Tsitovich National Academic Choir of the Republic of Belarus, the "Zvonarei" and "Talaka" ensembles, the "Lietuva" State Ensemble of Song, Music, and Dance (Vilnius), the youth group "Kolodiy" (Ukraine), and others. The large-scale theatrical performance "Postavy Ball," the exhibition in the Craftsmen's Town, play areas, and the "Who is Who?" competition of ensembles and performers on folk instruments also enjoy constant popularity. -0-
