A tram has been launched in Vitebsk in honour of the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival. On February 16, the day ticket sales began for the 33rd forum, the tram embarked on its first route. This surprise was prepared by the festival directorate in conjunction with the Vitebsk Tram and Trolleybus Department, as reported by Gleb Lapitsky, the director of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" International Arts Festival:
– From Friday, February 16, through Sunday inclusive, the festival tram, decorated with the festival's symbols – cornflowers – will run on route No. 1, and from next week it will operate on route No. 6. Why route 6? Because the festival is the 33rd, and 3 plus 3 equals 6. Its uniqueness is not only in the cornflowers. Throughout the entire route, passengers are accompanied by the voice of the forum's long-standing host, Alena Spiridovich.
Indeed, the host, without whom the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" cannot be imagined, not only announced the names of the stops but also cordially invited attendees to the July forum:
«Dear passengers! I invite you to the festival tram. This is Alena Spiridovich speaking. I wish you a good mood, pleasant fellow travellers, and lucky tickets. See you at the 33rd "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" International Arts Festival!»
Even after this, passengers could hardly believe their ears, like Oksana:
– Spiridovich? Yes, that's right! It's her! How interesting. I'll tell my colleagues about this.
The branded festival tram is visible from afar. As reported by the driver, Olga Shchankova, they departed from the depot at 5:49 AM and set off on their route. Now, the "Slavianski Bazaar" tram is speeding through Vitebsk, inviting everyone to the festival concerts, which will take place from July 9 to 15.
