Six young families – winners of the regional stages – will take part in the final competitions: the Gaiduk family (Brest region), the Molokov family (Vitebsk region), the Davydov family (Gomel region), the Polovenya family (Grodno region), the Litvin family (Minsk region), and the Zhekanov family (Mogilev region).
Voting for the video clips of the finalists of the "Best Rural Courtyard" competition (in this competition, users of the network will help determine the winner) has already started in the "Youth of Belarus" group on the social network "VKontakte", as well as on the BRSMvideo channel on the YouTube video hosting service.
At the final itself, in addition to demonstrating the "Welcome in Belarusian" presentation cards, it is necessary to present the "Exhibition of Family Farm Achievements". Participants will demonstrate their farming skills during the traditional competitions "For Firewood" (sawing, splitting, and stacking firewood into a woodpile) and "Festive Cart" (harnessing and unharnessing a horse). Families will have to show dexterity and skill, as well as teamwork, in the "In the Poultry House", "Bountiful Harvest", and "Fisherman" competitions. A master class on cooking Belarusian draniki "at the well" and in the traditional way will be organized during the "Peasant Delicacies" culinary competition.
The main competitions will take place in Glubokoye on October 6. The grand opening is scheduled for 13:00. However, the finalists will arrive in the district center on October 5. On this day, a draw, a city tour, and a friendly football match between the team of heads of families participating in the republican final and the PRSYuM team will be held.
The organizers note that guests of "Master of the Village" will not only be able to watch the competitions, but will also have the opportunity to participate in the cultural and entertainment program.
"Lord of the Village" started in 2007 in the Glubokoe district and immediately attracted public attention. For half a year, the country followed the competition of young families in the district who fought for the title of "Lord of the Village". At that time, it was won by the Gerasimenok family (this year they will participate in the competition as honorary guests). In 2008, the project reached the national level. Since then, it has annually brought together hundreds of young families (spouses aged no older than 31, their children) living in rural areas for at least 3 years and working in the countryside. The competition consists of three main stages: district, regional, and final - national, which allows for maximum attention to participation in the project and its popularization among the rural population. In 2017, the project involved 478 young families.
The main objectives of the project are to promote the settlement of young families in rural areas, enhance the prestige of agricultural professions, strengthen the institution of the family, revive labor dynasties, popularize the traditions of the Belarusian village, and foster a healthy lifestyle among young people.
