To conclude the 2013 football season in Lepel, a New Year's mini-football tournament was held among schools. Teams from all city schools participated in the competition, with Borovskaya, Zaslonovskaya, and Slobodskaya secondary schools fielding their squads.

Schoolchildren born in 2000 or later were invited to participate in the tournament. The age restriction is primarily due to the fact that republican competitions "Kolosok" among rural districts and "Leather Ball" for the prizes of the Presidential Sports Club will be held in this age category in the summer. It is necessary to select and prepare footballers in advance, and the tournament was timed for these purposes.

The games were held according to a round-robin system: the teams were divided into two groups, where they determined the best among themselves in matches. In the final games for first-second places, the group winners met, while the second-placed teams competed for third and fourth places.

The Borovskaya Secondary School team won the tournament.

Coaches have already drawn up a schedule and regularly gather teenagers at the sports complex according to it.

The Lepel team has been the winner of republican competitions several times and has taken prize-winning places. It remains to be hoped that this year the younger generation will pick up the glorious traditions of their predecessors.
