4 October, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. The financial police of the Vitebsk region have stopped the export of 20 tonnes of flour to Russia without a phytosanitary certificate. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the State Control Committee of Belarus. The MAN truck, which was heading to Russia, was carrying 400 bags of top-grade Belarusian wheat flour, weighing a total of 20 tonnes. During the inspection of the accompanying documents, financial police officers established that the carrier lacked the necessary phytosanitary certificate for the transportation of the goods. The cargo, with a preliminary value of Br50 million, has been detained. An administrative process has been initiated in this regard under Part 4 of Article 12.17 of the Code of Administrative Offences of Belarus. This violation was detected during joint measures to protect the consumer market by employees of the Novopolotsk inter-district department of the Department of Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee for the Vitebsk region and employees of the Vitebsk customs. As noted by the State Control Committee, this is not the first case of cargo detention without the mandatory phytosanitary certificate in the last month. Previously, financial police officers detained three trucks with flour worth Br93 million, and in the Minsk region, a truck carrying fresh tomatoes worth Br100 million. In both cases, the carriers lacked a phytosanitary certificate, and as a result, the transported goods were seized. Verification measures are being carried out.-0-
