A forum on regional cooperation and development within the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative will be held today at the China-Belarus Industrial Park "Great Stone", BelTA reports.
The main theme of the forum is "Great Stone Industrial Park - An Example of Global Opportunities". The event will bring together about 500 participants. These are representatives of governments, heads of business associations, investment funds, banks, as well as major companies from European and Asian regions.
This is the first large-scale event on the territory of the park, which will be a continuation of the Belt and Road International Cooperation Forum held in Beijing in April this year.
The forum program is quite extensive. The key topic of the plenary session will be the participation of states in the global "Belt and Road" initiative. At four panel sessions, participants will discuss innovative development and new technologies, transport and logistics systems, prospects for cooperation with financial institutions, as well as the development of "Great Stone" as a smart eco-city. The signing of bilateral documents and the registration of new park residents are planned.
On June 30, an exhibition of Belarusian and Chinese goods and services opened in the park, featuring products from almost 200 Belarusian and Chinese companies operating in sectors such as mechanical engineering and industrial equipment, energy, transport and logistics, construction and woodworking, science and technology, IT and telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and food, services (industrial design, metrology, consulting).
The organizers of the forum are the Ministry of Economy of Belarus and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. Co-organizers include the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) under the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, the administration of the "Great Stone" Industrial Park, the National Agency of Investment and Privatization, and CJSC "Industrial Park Development Company".
The China-Belarus Industrial Park "Great Stone" is an international platform for creating high-tech industries in advanced fields of activity with unprecedented benefits and preferences. The park has registered 44 companies from the PRC, Belarus, Austria, Germany, Russia, Lithuania, the USA, and Israel, and the volume of declared investments in projects exceeds $1 billion.
