The Vitebsk Regional Department of the Social Protection Fund of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus reminds that, in accordance with current legislation, the formation of work record for pension entitlement is subject to the payment of mandatory insurance contributions to the Fund's budget.

In accordance with the pension legislation of the Republic of Belarus, a phased increase in the retirement age and an increase in the required insurance work record with the payment of mandatory insurance contributions to the Fund's budget are being implemented until 2025 (2021 – 18 years, 2022 – 18.5 years, 2023 – 19 years, 2024 – 19.5 years, 2025 – 20 years).

Since January 1, 2019, self-employed individuals – persons engaged in activities not classified as entrepreneurial (the full list is contained in Article 1 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Belarus) – have been entitled to voluntarily participate in securing their pension future.

Contributions are paid for the periods of activity.

The deadline for paying contributions is no later than March 1 of the year following the reporting year (01.03.2022 for 2021).

The minimum contribution amount for activity during 9 months of 2021 is 1,044 Belarusian rubles.
