In the 30th-round match, the championship leader unexpectedly lost to one of the outsiders, FC Naftan Novopolotsk, in Novopolotsk with a minimal score of 0:1 (Zyulev, 31). This is the first victory for FC Naftan over the Borisov team in the national championship matches. Thanks to the win over the main championship favourite, Igor Kovalevich's team moved off the last place in the league table. For the visitors, this match will be particularly crucial, as they have already lost to the "miners" twice – in May at home (1:2) and in August away (0:1). In case of victory, FC Shakhtyor players will almost certainly not yield the second position in the league table to anyone until the end of the championship. In the final game of Sunday, FC Gomel will host FC Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino at their home ground.
