To prevent and mitigate accidents involving drunk drivers, a comprehensive set of measures to prevent accidents involving intoxicated drivers is being carried out from March 6 to March 12, 2018.
The State Automobile Inspectorate is undertaking significant efforts to detain and prosecute drivers operating vehicles while under the influence of alcohol. During the current period of 2018, 19 drivers operating vehicles while intoxicated have been detained in the Lepel district, including two repeat offenders within the year.
Despite severe penalties, ranging from 50 to 100 base units, and the revocation of driving licenses, some individuals are not deterred and commit further violations of the law, driving without a license and while intoxicated. They are also unconcerned by the prospect of criminal prosecution and vehicle confiscation for such an offense.
Every decent and law-abiding citizen will not drive after consuming alcoholic beverages and will warn others about the inadmissibility of driving under the influence of alcohol. They will also refuse to be a passenger if the driver is drunk.

Let us together stop this disaster, preserve our health and lives, and those of our loved ones!
