State Traffic Inspectorate: exercise increased attention and caution on the roads!

From January 4 to 7, 25 road traffic accidents were registered, resulting in five fatalities, 38 injuries, including seven children. 149 drunk drivers were apprehended, and 528 instances of driving without a license were stopped. 292 drivers were held accountable for driving without winter tires.

School holidays have concluded, and drivers need to increase their vigilance when approaching pedestrian crossings, driving near educational institutions, and in courtyards. When transporting children, remember that minors under 12 years of age must be secured in child restraint systems. Older children or those exceeding 150 centimeters in height must wear a seatbelt.

Today and in the coming days, the road situation will continue to be complicated by precipitation and fog, with ice forming on the roads due to temperature fluctuations. It is important for drivers to choose a speed that is safe for the prevailing road conditions.

It is vitally important for pedestrians to use retro-reflective elements in the dark and ensure they are visible to drivers. Cross the road with extreme caution and only after making sure that motorists have noticed you and have had time to stop.
