No one should dictate to Belarus what to do and how to do it. This opinion was expressed to the newspaper "SB. Belarus Segodnya" by Oleg Gaidukevich, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives, as reported by BELTA.
"All the problems that exist in the country, we must solve ourselves, because no one will ever care about us. In a number of countries, unfortunately, there is open interference in the internal affairs of Belarus. This is unacceptable - no one should dictate to us what to do and how to do it. We must do everything ourselves for the consolidation of people," said Oleg Gaidukevich. "I am a person with an alternative point of view, such a point of view should exist. If everyone adheres to one opinion, the country will not develop. We must all resolve issues through internal national dialogue, but without intermediaries. We do not need them to resolve our internal political issues."
The parliamentarian noted that financing and open support of any political forces from outside, as well as pressure on the country, are unacceptable. "It is immediately clear that the interests being defended will not be those of our country, but of those who pay for it. We are well aware that behind this is only geopolitics and nothing more, because everyone acts exclusively in their own national interests. Activity at our western borders leads to nothing good - it is escalation. Naturally, we will react not only within the country, but also as a member of the Union State and the CSTO to the build-up of forces near our borders. Our army must be strong here - in that case, there will be no conflict. The current situation has shown that there are also true allies: for example, Russia's position is the most honest for me. Russia says that it will never interfere in our internal affairs, and warns other countries against doing so," he added.
