The organisers noted that this is the 10th festival, but it will be held in Vitebsk for the first time. Previously, the event was held in Minsk, Brest and Lida. Traditionally, pupils from all Belarusian boarding schools for children and young people with psychophysical development peculiarities (there are 10 such institutions in the social protection system) take part in the festival, while the geography of foreign participants varies. Representatives from Ukraine are expected at the current forum. Children from Russia, Latvia, and Poland participated in past festivals.
Around 90 children will come to Vitebsk, with the total number of participants in the event being 140 people. This includes volunteers, many from Vitebsk, accompanying persons, as well as Belarusian artists and media personalities (Alexander Solodukha, Dmitry Koldun, Svetlana Borovskaya, etc.).
The qualifying round of the festival will take place at the regional philharmonic hall on June 1. On Friday, June 2, an excursion programme around Vitebsk and a flash mob will be organised for the participants, and in the evening, a gala concert will be held in the Summer Amphitheatre, featuring stars of the Belarusian stage alongside the finalists. The concert starts at 6:00 PM.
"Our festival is the only inclusive creative event in Belarus for children with peculiarities living in residential institutions. The forum is always widely supported by the Ministry of Labour, and this year it is being held in close cooperation with the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee," the organisers noted.
