The gala concert of the regional patriotic song contest "Songs of Our Fathers' Youth", dedicated to the Year of Small Motherland, will be held in Orsha on April 4, BELTA was informed by the Vitebsk Regional Methodical Centre of Folk Art.
The song competition will take place on the stage of the Railway Workers' Culture House. Based on the results of the zonal qualifying rounds, which were held in Gorodok and Verkhnedvinsk, 20 soloists and one quartet will participate in the final. They prepared two popular songs from the 1930s-2005s to choose from. The first song is on the theme "When Profession is Creativity", the second piece is a hit song.
The competition is held in two nominations - solo vocalist and vocal ensemble. The age of performers is from 16 to 31 years.
The objectives of the creative competition are to support talented young performers, to improve the level of performing skills, to foster patriotic and aesthetic education of the younger generation through the best examples of song genres of past years, as well as to select young talents for participation in republican and international competitions and festivals.
