The General Plan for the town of Lepel provides for its active development. Based on the General Plan, detailed planning layouts have been developed for the central part of Lepel and the Yuzhny microdistrict.

This year, a 60-apartment residential building on Chuykov Street has been commissioned. The construction of two 40-apartment multi-storey buildings on Maksim Gorky and Internatsionalnaya streets is nearing completion. Construction and installation works for the "zero cycle" of a 40-apartment residential building on Yalugin Lane (near the Kolosok shop) have commenced.

The foundation of a 100-apartment multi-storey building on Chuykov Street will be laid, opposite the microdistrict of residential buildings located near the petrol station and the Minsk-Vitebsk highway. In general, in this location, on the other side of Chuykov Street, it is planned to build three 100-apartment residential buildings in the future, with appropriate social infrastructure: a grocery store, a public catering facility, a post office, a pharmacy, a comprehensive household service reception point, a computer centre, etc.

This year, the construction of 24 single-family houses of the cottage type, with a total area of 3708 square meters, has been completed in Lepel, and happy town families have already celebrated their housewarming.

It should be noted that residents of the town in need of housing improvement are allocated land plots (up to 15 ares) for construction. For example, on Korolenko Street, work is in full swing on 26 such land plots. And in the Yuzhny-1 microdistrict, from September 2010 to the present day, 20 people have already received such documents and are also actively building their own housing. Thanks to this, the boundaries of Minskaya, Przhevalsky, Zaslonov, Kotsarev, and Kleshtorny streets are constantly expanding. In total, individual housing construction is currently underway on 89 plots in Lepel.

The land management service of the district executive committee has previously carried out planning and developed documentation for another 23 land plots for housing construction, which are awaiting their owners, as there is currently no queue for obtaining land for these purposes.
