10 January, Glubokoye /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The Prosecutor General's Office, the Supreme Court and the Investigative Committee advocate for systematic personnel training for their departments. This was stated in an interview with a BELTA correspondent by Prosecutor General of Belarus Alexander Konyuk. "The opinion that there is an oversupply of lawyers is an incompetent opinion. There are many graduates of law faculties of higher education institutions, but few lawyers," stated the Prosecutor General. On the initiative of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Supreme Court and the Investigative Committee, under the auspices of the Security Council, a meeting is planned in the near future with the participation of rectors of higher education institutions where personnel training in legal specialties is conducted. This meeting will discuss the issue of personnel training for the prosecutor's offices, courts and the Investigative Committee, said Alexander Konyuk. As the Prosecutor General explained, this is necessitated by the fact that, unlike the KGB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, these three departments do not have their own educational institutions. Meanwhile, in Russia and Ukraine, specialists are trained on a systematic basis. "We will raise the issue of training employees for the prosecutor's office on the basis of the existing system of legal personnel training," he said.
