President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting with the Governor of Russia's Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako on July 16, a BELTA correspondent reports.
"Vladivostok is geographically distant, but not alien. This is evidenced by our frequent meetings and the agreements we reach as a result of these meetings. There is no point in talking much about what we can or cannot do, what we are capable of, because we know the capabilities in Vladivostok, and you know our capabilities - Belarus," Alexander Lukashenko noted. "I often talk with the President of Russia and tell him about our meetings, about the needs of the Far East - which is close to us - about the 'requests' of the Governor of Primorsky Krai. I jokingly say: he has already taken everything out, and when there is not enough money in the budget, he uses his personal funds to work for the benefit of Russia."
Oleg Kozhemyako, in turn, emphasized that Primorsky Krai attaches great importance to partnership with Belarus. "Thanks to our cooperation, the residents of Primorsky Krai gladly consume Belarusian products. The turnover is growing every year - in agricultural products and machine-building. If we started with one and a half billion (Russian rubles. - BELTA note), now it is 22.5. This is mutually beneficial: our exports have also grown - threefold, and Belarus has started to receive more goods from Primorye," the head of the region stated.
