Athletes from four countries will compete at the open republican competitions in artistic gymnastics in memory of Olympic champion Tamara Lazakovich in Vitebsk, the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The tournament, organised for the 16th time, will be held from December 7 to 10. About 30 masters of sports from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Latvia, including members of national teams, will compete for victory. The athletes' performances will be evaluated based on the results of the all-around competition and its individual disciplines - balance beam, uneven bars, vault, and floor exercise. The awards ceremony for the winners will take place on December 10. They will be presented with prizes, diplomas, and medals. The event is organised by the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, the NOC representative office in the Vitebsk region, and the Children and Youth Sports School for Artistic Gymnastics. Tamara Lazakovich was born in 1954 in Vitebsk. She is a multiple USSR champion, winner of the Olympic Games, European and World Championships.
