Whether young people are satisfied with the organisation of student work teams in Lepel district was of primary interest to the Chairman of the District Executive Committee.
Also participating in the meeting were Svetlana Shevelyova, Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the District Executive Committee, and youth movement leaders Ekaterina Baranovska and Maria Frolova.
As noted by Ekaterina Vladimirovna, the First Secretary of the District Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM), student teams carry a labour and educational charge, allow for professional orientation, acquisition of work skills and an additional specialty, and provide an opportunity to earn their first money.
"Over 9 months of 2025, 32 student teams were formed, employing 340 people. The young people worked in teams of various specialisations, and the list of organisations employing young people included enterprises such as KUPP "Borovka", OAO "Chereyshchina", SPF "Zaozerie", the "Lepel MKC" branch, "Lepel PMK-75", the "LODE" boarding house, and others. Our activists also participated in numerous campaigns, for example, "Miracles on Christmas", "Youth for Clean Cities and Villages", "We Choose to Help the Elderly", and "Let's Clear Snow Together" for clearing the territory of monuments," noted the First Secretary of the District Committee.
The importance of the student team movement was discussed by the young people together with the head of the district during a candid conversation in a "question and answer" format. As always, the Chairman was as open as possible with the youth, stating directly: "Young people, I want you to honestly and openly share your impressions of working in student teams, tell us about the difficulties you encountered, and advise on what should be paid attention to when organising the student team movement next year?"
It was pleasant to hear a lot of positive feedback about the experience gained. According to the young people, it was a good and very interesting time that they will remember for the rest of their lives. From landscaping to potato harvesting, the work in each team was different, but the main thing was that it was profitable and useful.
In turn, the youth also addressed many questions to the head of the district. Schoolchildren were interested in how the Chairman's career path began, whether he uses social networks, whether he would be happy if his children also joined the ranks of the BRSM soon, and from what age it is best to decide on a career choice.
The Chairman's responses were detailed and candid, and as parting words for his interlocutors, Mikhail Leonidovich said the following:
— A very interesting time is now coming for you, when you can try yourselves in different directions, learn the value of your first earned money, gain new skills and unique experience. Do not let your youth fly by meaninglessly. Use all opportunities to find yourselves and confidently assert yourselves. Spend less time on your phones, read books, communicate more, engage in sports and creative activities. All of this will definitely be useful to you in life. I am sure that the experience you gained while working in student teams was beneficial for you. The most valuable and important thing is that with your desire to work, you have already asserted yourselves as worthy citizens of the country. I am sure that all the best is yet to come for you! — said Mikhail Kiselevich.
