– Familiarisation with the workforces
The enterprise's reserves are not depleted. This is confirmed by the growing volumes of production and sales of products. For seven months, as reported to the head of the region by the director of JSC "Postavyfurniture" Sergey Latetsky, the team produced furniture worth 6.5 million rubles, increasing production by 151% compared to the same period last year. Revenue from its sale reached almost 9 million rubles, with earnings 56% higher than in 2021. Sales profitability was 7.1%.
In short, OJSC "Postavy Mebel" is expanding its product range and actively promoting it. As a result, it has the opportunity to constantly increase production volumes and develop new sales markets. Under sanctions, for example, in 7 months, compared to last year, it more than doubled export shipments, selling over 400 thousand dollars worth of products abroad. Having lost customers in the EU countries, it turned its attention eastward. Exports to Russia increased threefold – from 42 thousand in 2021 to 111 thousand dollars this year. Institutions and residents of the Moscow, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, and Lipetsk regions, Bashkortostan, and the Chechen Republic readily purchase furniture from Postavy.
Educational institutions in Kazakhstan took advantage of the opportunity to purchase more Belarusian furniture. Postavy furniture makers established business ties with them in previous years, and this year, by the start of the academic year, they furnished two schools. Furniture worth 258 thousand dollars was supplied to this country's market. Kazakhstan received 63% of the total export volume.
Postavy has enormous potential within its own country. On average, they furnish 5-6 Belarusian schools per year. Last year, they furnished five out of seven schools commissioned. This included a school in Bobruisk, which was inspected by the President of the country, who highly praised the work of all those involved in the construction and furnishing of the educational institution. In 2022, two schools and a kindergarten in Minsk, and a school in Stolin were furnished with furniture from Postavy, and dozens of orders from other educational institutions were fulfilled. The largest furniture customers are the National Institute of Education and BELAZ. For the former, Postavy has furnished about a thousand biology, physics, and chemistry laboratories in recent years, and for the automotive plant, they manufactured office furniture. The order amounted to 900 thousand rubles.
As Sergey Lateckiy noted, the enterprise works with all materials available on the market: chipboard, MDF, painted and laminated plastic. It uses fittings from the country's leading manufacturers. The products are designed for the mid and economy segments. However, the equipment allows for the production of furniture of any level, even premium class.
Chipboard is cut like fabric using a computer, and the machine itself provides cuts with millimeter precision. The metalworking shop, where frames are manufactured, uses an imported welding robot. With the assistance of the regional executive committee, an automatic drying chamber and an edge banding machine were acquired; a band saw is used for metal cutting. Documents for the procurement procedure of a painting and drying chamber are ready. In 7 months, investments of almost 500 thousand rubles were directed to fixed assets, including over 235 thousand from the extrabudgetary centralized investment fund of the regional executive committee.
The head of the enterprise believes that what has been done is a completed stage. It is necessary to think about tomorrow and development prospects. Customers always expect new products. Owners of houses and dachas wish to see practical yet stylish items. Children in kindergartens and schools are delighted with bright, beautiful, and comfortable furniture. And in furniture production, the head of the region emphasized, it is important to stay ahead of the times, to anticipate trends in changing fashions for shapes, materials, and fittings.
For over 40 years, Postavyfurniture JSC has been a leader in the country for the production of furniture for educational institutions, successfully mastering the production of items for homes and dachas, and offering customers about 400 product items.
A steady hum of machinery fills the production workshops of JSC "Postavyfurniture". Sheets of material, soon to become finished products, smoothly move from stacks onto the panel of a special machine that cuts wood like fabric and transfers it to the next operation.
