Around 540 young specialists will join the ranks of employees of educational institutions in the region at the beginning of the new academic year, as reported by the Main Department for Education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The largest number of newly qualified teachers will come to the school classrooms of the regional centre, as well as Orsha, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk. Primarily, they will become primary school teachers and preschool education educators. In total, about 540 young specialists will commence teaching children. Almost 300 of them are graduates of the Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov.

To ensure that novice teachers remain at their first place of employment, housing is provided where possible, and comfortable conditions are created. Over the past two years, 21 houses and 19 apartments have been allocated to young specialists, and 199 places in dormitories have been provided. 124 people use rented housing, 82 of whom, in accordance with collective agreements, receive monetary compensation for expenses ranging from 30% to 50%. Some of them are provided with rental housing.

"District executive committees, departments and administrations for education, and rural executive committees continue to work to prevent the outflow of teaching staff and to retain young specialists at their first place of work. Great attention is paid to enhancing the social status of teachers and the prestige of the teaching profession," the department noted. "Within financial capabilities, assistance is provided to those in need in obtaining housing, purchasing essential furniture and household appliances."

The department added that they also focus on the professional growth of talented specialists. Those who demonstrate good results in practical activities, possess professional qualities and potential, are enrolled in the personnel reserve for occupying leadership positions.
