On October 28, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. OJSC "Gluboksky Dairy and Canned Food Plant" will allocate Br100 billion for the reconstruction of its Braslav branch, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent.
According to the project, a completely new cheese production facility will be established in Braslav. Currently, the demolition of old buildings, replacement of utility networks, and preparation of the site for the construction of a new production building are underway at the branch. Construction is planned to commence this year.
The enterprise has already held a tender for the supply of technological equipment. A Spanish line with a capacity of 10 tonnes of hard cheese per day and a Polish line with a capacity of up to 2 tonnes of soft cheese per day will be delivered to the plant in the spring of 2012, with installation scheduled for April-May. The plant will also reconstruct its boiler house and build new storage facilities for cheese ripening and storage.
The work is being financed through own funds and credit resources. The facility is scheduled to be launched in the second half of next year. The implementation of the project will allow the plant to significantly expand its cheese production with a prospect of exporting the main part of the output to Russia. Currently, hard rennet cheeses are produced in small volumes – 20 tonnes per month – at the head enterprise and are sold only within the region.
In January-September, the enterprise produced products worth Br269 billion, or 151% compared to the same period in 2010. Sales profitability was 13%. Exports reached $34 million (102.8%). Their share in the total sales volume was 60%. Shipments were made to Russia, Ukraine, Canada, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Armenia, and Israel.
Gluboksky Dairy and Canned Food Plant was founded in 1966. It was corporatized in 1998. It includes the Braslav Production Branch (formerly a dairy plant) with a raw material zone and the agricultural enterprise "Mnyuto".
