July 5, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. OJSC "Glubokoe Dairy and Canning Plant" plans to enter the markets of Vietnam and China, Sergey Stolyaronok, Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs of the enterprise, informed a BELTA correspondent. To promote its products in the Vietnamese market, the plant is participating in the establishment of a Belarusian-Vietnamese trading house in Hanoi. Samples of whole milk powder and skimmed milk powder, whey, and necessary documentation have been sent to potential partners in this country. The price negotiation process is underway. Prospects for entering the Chinese market opened up during the participation in the 23rd Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair, which was held from June 15-19. "This market is of significant interest to us, as the population of Harbin and its satellite cities is 9.7 million people. Monitoring has shown that the products we intend to bring here (whole milk powder and skimmed milk powder) are represented here in small quantities. Thus, we have prospects for working in this field," said Sergey Stolyaronok. He also noted that there are certain difficulties in promoting Belarusian dairy products, but the enterprise intends to fight for this niche. Samples of products have been presented to Chinese partners, and the first negotiations to establish contacts have been successfully completed. A detailed discussion of cooperation will continue during the visit of representatives of business circles from Harbin to Vitebsk this week. In the first half of 2012, the enterprise produced products worth Br377.8 billion, which is almost 2.5 times higher than the same period in 2011. Exports for January-June reached $15.2 million. Their share in the total sales volume was 70%. Shipments were made to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Armenia, and the USA. Based on the results of January-May, the energy saving indicator was minus 6.7%, sales profitability was 8.6%, and labor productivity reached 263.9% compared to the corresponding period last year. The average salary in January-May was Br3.5 million. The enterprise was founded in 1966. It includes the Braslav Production Branch and the agricultural enterprise "Mnyuto". The plant produces canned milk, butter, milk powder, whole milk products, casein, and hard rennet cheeses. The range of products manufactured includes over 120 items.
