Measures for the improvement of Lepel are currently under development, timed to coincide with the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus on July 3, 2012, as well as City Day, which will traditionally be celebrated in September. This year, such works will be carried out under very limited financial conditions.

Nevertheless, it is planned to improve the section of Karl Marx Street, extending from Internatsionalnaya Street to Svobody Square, with the arrangement of flower lawns in some places along the sidewalks, the pruning of old trees and the planting of new ones in their place, mainly chestnuts. Sidewalk curbs will be renovated here, and pedestrian paths will be paved with tiles. Similar work is planned to be carried out on the section of Danukalov Street, which runs from Svobody Square to Budyonny Street. It is planned to complete the installation of the sidewalk on Borisovsky Trakt Street (from Chapaev Street to Chuykov Street). Work will continue on the expansion and arrangement of sidewalks on Maxim Gorky Street.

Due attention will be paid to bringing proper order to the recreation area near Lake Svyatoye, the construction of additional gazebos, other small architectural forms, and the repair of old, previously installed small wooden structures intended for the recreation of Lepel residents and guests of our city, where one can sit, chat, and spend their free time interestingly. The need to improve the urban beach has become pressing, especially around the post of the water rescue service.

And, after spring fully comes into its own, snow and ice melt, and truly warm weather sets in, work will be carried out on pothole repair of the asphalt pavement of the city streets, with the completion of improvements, for example, on Shkolnaya Street and adjacent courtyard areas.
