From today, the republican preventive campaign "Don't be invisible on the road!" has started in Polotsk region. The event will last until October 30.
First and foremost, it is aimed at preventing road traffic accidents involving pedestrians and cyclists, and is intended to remind them of the importance of using retroreflective elements and high-visibility vests in the dark.
Traffic police patrols will be deployed to accident-prone road sections and pedestrian crossings, and will monitor compliance with traffic rules by pedestrians and cyclists, especially in the dark. Increased attention will be paid to those in a state of intoxication.
Also, until October 30, the traffic police are carrying out a set of preventive measures to improve the safety of passenger transportation in irregular services (by buses and taxis).
