The campaign will run throughout the region until March 17.Its aim is to minimise negative trends in road traffic safety and to increase the effectiveness of measures taken to eliminate the causes and conditions contributing to road traffic accidents involving pedestrians, cyclists, and persons using personal mobility devices.
In addition, officers will focus on improving the safety of vulnerable road users during evening and early morning hours and will remind them of the importance of using retroreflective elements and high-visibility vests during darkness.
Traffic police patrols will be deployed to accident-prone road sections and pedestrian crossings, and will monitor compliance with traffic regulations by pedestrians and cyclists, especially during darkness. Increased attention will be paid to individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
