Be able to assess the time and traffic situation, do not try to gain a few seconds. Begin crossing only after ensuring that drivers have stopped and are yielding to you. When crossing, remove your hood, do not use gadgets, headphones, or your phone. During darkness, use reflective elements on your outerwear.
