The State Automobile Inspectorate reminds of the basic rules for cycling

To ensure their own safety, as well as the safety of other road users, cyclists must fulfill their obligations:

- when approaching an intersection with a roadway, reduce speed in advance and, having made sure that entering the roadway is safe, cross it at a pedestrian's walking pace;
- cross the roadway via a bicycle crossing or cycle path, and in their absence – via a pedestrian crossing, at an intersection along the line of sidewalks or shoulders, without creating obstacles for pedestrian traffic;
- when riding on the road at night or in conditions of insufficient visibility, the bicycle must be equipped with: at the front
– a headlight or lamp emitting white light, at the rear – a lamp emitting red light.

The cyclist themselves must be equipped with reflective elements.
