More than 1.5 thousand violations were identified by state labor inspectors of the Vitebsk region during the month of population safety, the first deputy head of the Vitebsk regional department of the state labor inspection department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Sergey Anufriev, told a BELTA correspondent. "The safety month was held in the region from April 4 to May 4. During this period, state labor inspectors, as part of mobile groups together with representatives of other interested departments of the region, inspected 161 organizations and checked working conditions at 221 facilities. In total, during the inspections of workplaces, 89 units of equipment not meeting established safety requirements were identified, and employers were recommended to suspend their operation. When visiting organizations, employees of the state labor inspectorate provided methodological assistance in identifying violations of safety requirements, pointed out to company officials the inadmissibility of violating labor protection requirements and norms, drew their attention to the inadmissibility of performing hazardous work by employees who do not have the appropriate qualifications and have not undergone training, as well as to the need for immediate suspension from work of employees not provided with personal protective equipment (PPE). For all cases of non-provision and non-use of PPE by employees, lack of knowledge testing, instruction, internship, qualification, and in cases where these violations could not be eliminated in the presence of mobile group members, state labor inspectors recommended that the employer suspend these employees from work.
