Dry weather and the human factor have been the causes of fires that broke out this spring and early summer. Due to the lack of precipitation in most regions of Belarus, a V class fire hazard has been established. In such conditions, even a casually discarded match in the forest can lead to disastrous consequences – the burning of many hectares of forest, and the death of animals and people.

In such conditions, even a casually discarded match in the forest can lead to disastrous consequences – the burning of many hectares of forest, and the death of animals and people.
In many districts, local authorities have already introduced a temporary ban on visiting forests. The ban on visiting forests implies a complete refusal for citizens to visit forests, including for walks and picnics. The same applies to entering the forest fund by any transport, except for official vehicles.
We urge citizens to strictly comply with the requirements of the ban and, during its period of validity, to refrain from lighting fires on dacha plots and homesteads, as well as in outdoor recreation areas. And even more so, do not burn dry vegetation!
The situation regarding fire prevention will be monitored by all law enforcement and environmental agencies of Belarus – the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Committee, the Ministry of Defence, the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Animal and Plant Life, the Ministry of Forestry, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. Violators will be brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine.
In addition, state inspectors will check how legal entities engaged in forestry and third-party forest users ensure fire safety, whether firebreaks and protective strips are equipped on their territories, and how other fire safety requirements are fulfilled in various areas of the forest fund.
The forest is our national treasure; preserving it is the duty of every citizen!
