The State Sanitary Supervision of Belarus has restricted, suspended, and prohibited the operation of 19 recreation zones due to non-compliance with epidemiological safety criteria and unsatisfactory sanitary and technical condition, the Republican Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health (RCHEPH) informed BELTA. Currently, the operation of the beach on the Dnieper River, Podyzvoz tract in the urban-type settlement of Loev in the Gomel region, is prohibited in Belarus. The operation of 8 recreation zones has been suspended. In the Brest region, these are the "Nadzeia" sanatorium beach, beaches on the Mukhavets River opposite the recreation base of OJSC "Brest Hosiery Mill" and on the Chakva River in the village of Rubel, Stolin District, as well as on the Lesnaya River in the town of Kamenets and the Vedma River in the town of Lyakhovichi. In the Grodno region, swimming is prohibited in the lake in the agro-town of Gurnofel, Shchuchin District, and two beaches in Grodno are not operating – on Lake Yubileynoye and the "Tsentralny" beach on the Neman, the RCHEPH stated. In addition, the State Sanitary Supervision has restricted children's swimming in ten recreation zones. The largest number of these is in Gomel: "Tsentralny", "Lake Lyubenskoye", "Zapadny", "Kostyukovsky", "Novobelitsky" beaches. In the Gomel region, children are prohibited from swimming at the beach of Komarino Lake, Rogachev District. In Brest, the restriction affected the beach of the recreation zone on Oktyabrskoy Revolyutsii Street in the regional center. In the region as a whole, the "Polonka" recreation zone beach in Baranovichi District and the beach on the Shchara River in the village of Darevo, Lyakhovichi District, are prohibited for children's swimming. In the Minsk region, children's swimming is restricted at the beach of the Dubrovskoye reservoir in Minsk District. "Information on the facts of restriction, suspension, or prohibition of the operation of water bodies is promptly communicated to the public through the media, and is also posted on the Internet on the official websites of state sanitary supervision institutions," the RCHEPH noted. Currently, the State Sanitary Supervision has inspected 425 recreation zones. Violations of sanitary norms, rules, and hygienic standards were identified in 37 of them. In connection with the violations, 13 protocols were drawn up against the responsible officials. Sanitary service specialists took 824 water samples for laboratory research, 29 of which did not comply with the established hygienic standards for microbiological indicators, and 30 – for sanitary-chemical indicators.-0-
