This was stated today in Grodno by Lilia Ananich, First Deputy Minister of Information of Belarus, opening the republican seminar for heads of Belarusian media, BELTA correspondent reports. As Lilia Ananich emphasized, the seminar is held so that media managers can once again look, listen, receive important information firsthand and thus synchronize their course and timing in terms of covering all areas of Belarus's development and the social and economic policies pursued in the country. The two-day seminar is taking place in the Grodno region, which demonstrates dynamic development rates. The first day of the event was of a practical nature. Before the official opening ceremony, its participants visited industrial, social, and cultural sites in Grodno, Lida, Grodno, Shchuchinsky, and Volkovyssky districts. The main meeting of the forum will take place in Grodno on April 29. It will address issues of information support for state policy in various fields. Strictly professional topics will also be covered: training of journalistic staff, development trends in television, print media, and online broadcasting. According to Lilia Ananich, one of the most important topics today is the work of a journalist in the context of the emergence of players such as online media in the information space. A separate presentation will be dedicated to this topic. The meeting will be attended by Oleg Proleskovsky, Minister of Information of Belarus, Anatoly Tozik, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, and Vladimir Makei, Head of the Presidential Administration. A kind of continuation of the seminar will be the exhibition "Media of Belarus," which will be held from May 4 to 7 in Minsk. "Representatives from at least eight countries will come to it, and this indicates that we can be proud of our information space," Lilia Ananich noted. The seminar is organized by the Ministry of Information and the Grodno Regional Executive Committee. In total, more than 200 heads and representatives of republican government bodies, chief editors of republican and regional media of Belarus, and press secretaries of various departments will take part in the forum. -0-
