The distinguished Belarusian ensemble, the State Chamber Choir, under the direction of Natalia Mikhailova, will perform at the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic on October 23. The concert, titled "On the Wave of Feelings," is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Stanisław Moniuszko's birth and will feature chamber music, as reported to BelTA by the Philharmonic.

The organ duo of Varvara Tsaryuk and Yury Gabruś will participate in the concert. The programme will include works by Stanisław Moniuszko for choir, soloists, and organ.

"The composer is primarily known as the creator of national opera, but he also wrote many remarkable large-scale choral, chamber vocal, and instrumental works. Stanisław Moniuszko drew not only on the traditions of German and Russian composers but also on Belarusian, Lithuanian, and Polish folklore. The publication of song collections was of great significance. Alongside the creation of over 400 miniatures, the composer laid the foundation for the national vocal repertoire," the Philharmonic noted.

These lesser-known facets of Stanisław Moniuszko's creative output will be presented by the State Chamber Choir, accompanied by the organ. The performance will include large-scale sacred works (Mass for Female Choir, "Lamentations" (Mass in D minor), Ecce lignum crucis for mixed choir), unaccompanied choral miniatures, arias, and duets. Rare organ solo compositions will also be performed during the concert.
