On March 7, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The State Investment Programme provides for the allocation of Br5 billion in 2012 for the construction of a canteen and a dormitory for the Vitebsk Cadet School, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the school's director Vladimir Shitko. The project, with a total cost of Br24 billion, will be completed in 2013. Thanks to this, cadets will have a well-equipped dormitory for 200 places and a modern canteen. The active phase of construction will begin with the onset of warm weather. As Vladimir Shitko noted, the number of students will increase from 250 to 450 by September 1, 2013, and the school itself will become one of the best-equipped among cadet schools. The educational institution already has a swimming pool, a sports and cultural complex with the region's only handball hall. The Vitebsk Cadet School was established in 2011 on the basis of the Luzhesnyanskaya boarding school-gymnasium for gifted children. The teaching staff of one of the best general education institutions in the region has practically not changed with the transformation. Here, school subjects are still taught by candidates of sciences and teachers who have prepared more than one winner of republican and international olympiads. Only the number of former military personnel working as educators has increased. In the future, groups will be formed at the school to prepare for admission to educational institutions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The State Investment Programme for 2012, approved by the head of state's decree, provides for the allocation of Br3568.7 billion. Of this amount, Br3560.2 billion is from the republican budget (including Br74.6 billion from the reserve fund of the President of Belarus and Br706 billion from the state targeted budget fund for national development). The programme provides for the construction of 303 socially significant facilities in the republic (36 are newly initiated). Among them are a medical ward for a maternity hospital and a surgical department, a pedestrian bridge across the Western Dvina River in Polotsk, a palace of game sports in Polotsk, an Ice Palace of KSUP "Hockey Club "Khimik" Novopolotsk, and the reconstruction with restoration of the Transfiguration Church in Polotsk. -0 -
