15 July, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Innovative development programme projects for the Vitebsk region may receive support from the Union State. This was announced today at a press conference dedicated to the Union State Day at the International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" by the State Secretary of the Union State, Grigory Rapota, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. During a meeting with the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, issues concerning the possible participation of the Union State in the implementation of certain innovative development programmes for the Vitebsk region were discussed. In particular, the discussion focused on programmes in the fields of biotechnology, energy saving, and IT technologies, Grigory Rapota reported. "These areas are beneficial for both Belarus and Russia, therefore, during discussions within the governments, we intend to determine which of them can be financed from the Union State budget," said Grigory Rapota. The Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee will present the State Secretary with a package of documents on the innovative development programmes for the Vitebsk region.-0-
