The forest festival "Mushroom Hunt" will be the central event of the music and tourism festival "Hunt to Sing!" in the Verkhnedvinsk district, the event organizers informed a BELTA correspondent.
The festival will take place at the "Krasny Bor" tourist complex in the village of Dobropolesy from September 6 to 8. Its main part, "Mushroom Hunt," is an educational and entertainment program consisting of a forest lecture hall and mushroom picking competitions.
The forest lecture hall will be headed by Pavel Kolmakov, a specialist in forest cap mushrooms and a lecturer at Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov. The practical part, in addition to mushroom competitions, includes forest excursions conducted by mycologists and biologists, tourism specialists, and foresters. Lecturers will explain how to navigate large forest areas and avoid getting lost, whether forest mushrooms can be grown at a dacha, whether mushrooms need a Red Book, introduce the traditions of mushroom cuisine from other countries, and answer other popular science questions.
The final of the mushroom competition, the meeting of participants, weighing of the collected mushrooms, and awarding valuable prizes to the winners will take place on September 8.
The festival program for guests includes quest programs, music masterclasses for teenagers, a culinary tourism area, an extensive banya program, and non-stop concerts of poetic songs, rock, jazz, and folk music.
