Criminal liability for illegal trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances, their precursors and analogues (Parts 2-5 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code) applies from the age of 14.
Entering the criminal network of the drug trade, you become a participant in an organised group; the price for such activity is up to 20 years of imprisonment.

A resident of Lepel, in early September 2025, searched online for ways to earn extra money. Having found what he was looking for, the 39-year-old man fell for the opportunity of high earnings. The resident of Lepel did not think about the consequences, which he now bitterly regrets.
– The accused contacted the curator of an online shop selling narcotic drugs via the messenger "Telegram", – said Pavel Sukhov, Deputy Prosecutor of Vitebsk District. – The responsibilities of the resident of Lepel, among other things, included carrying out operators' instructions, ensuring secrecy measures, as well as acquiring narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, their packaging, storage, transportation, and distribution.
Law enforcement officers became aware of the illegal business, which lasted for about three weeks.
– During a personal search of the man, as well as the inspection of his place of residence and over 33 caches, law enforcement officers discovered and seized a psychotropic substance with a total mass of 1696.21 g, – reported Pavel Sukhov.
The Prosecutor's Office of Vitebsk District has sent a criminal case to court. The resident of Lepel is charged with illegal acquisition, storage, and transportation for the purpose of sale, illegal sale of especially dangerous psychotropic substances in large quantities, committed by an organised group.
The man faces up to 20 years of imprisonment with a fine.
Minors and the "drug trade": how teenagers are drawn into criminal schemes
In the current year, 10 teenagers in the Brest region have become defendants in criminal cases concerning illicit drug trafficking. Almost half of them are girls.
Minors were recruited through messengers under the guise of "harmless earnings". Upon completing the very first tasks, the teenagers were detained by police officers.
