Every year, the number of young car enthusiasts increases, for whom a car becomes, among other things, a true lifelong passion. Various car races and off-road rallies are very popular among young people, which usually turn into unique, interesting spectacles not only for the participants themselves but also for numerous fans.

A competition among young drivers of category "B", employed at enterprises and institutions of Lepel region, timed to coincide with the Day of the Motorist and Road Worker, has also taken root in our district. The organizers are the youth department of the district executive committee, the district committee of the NGO "BRSM", the state automobile inspection, and a driving school.

This time, the sporting confrontation unfolded on Freedom Square in the town. There was plenty of space to drive, demonstrate dexterity and skills in vehicle control, and quickly and accurately overcome road obstacles! Moreover, it was not by chance that the participants of the competition were given witty text stickers-reminders before its start to be attached inside the cars near the driver's seat, emphasizing strict adherence to traffic rules. They were presented to the young drivers by the head of the traffic police department of the internal affairs department, Alexander Trusov.

Everyone who drove to the start was absolutely free to choose their vehicle. Most preferred Western European foreign cars, however, some, even young drivers, cannot part with their old Russian cars due to their reliability and ease of use. Such cars were also represented at this competition.

During the first stage of the competition, car enthusiasts drove through a "ring" enclosed by metal barriers, first forward and then backward, entered a rather narrow "garage" forward and backward, overcame the well-known "snake" and finally parked in a predetermined spot. For each mistake, three seconds were added to the final time of completing the track, which was carefully recorded by the judges.

The next stages of the competition involved paired speed races – head-on "eights" and "snakes". They were conducted under the same scoring conditions as the first stage.

Based on the sum of places taken in all stages, the winner of the competition was determined. It was Alexey Palovinsky from KUVGP "Privulle". The second place was won by Dmitry Kruglik from the repair and mechanical plant. The third line in the tournament table was taken by Ruslan Agaponko from OJSC "Lepelsky MKK".
