March 26, Minsk /BelTA/. The II Festival of Arts of Belarusians of the World may become one of the cultural events dedicated to the celebration of Independence Day, said Mikhail Rybakov, Director of the Republican Centre for National Cultures of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus, in an interview with BelTA.

"The issue of holding the festival during the celebration of Independence Day or City Day is currently under consideration. The final decision on this matter will be made at the level of Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Tozik, after which we will consider the venue for the forum and the number of participants," said Mikhail Rybakov.

According to him, the festival will be attended not only by creative groups from different countries, but also by artists, photographers, writers – everyone who popularizes Belarusian culture abroad.

The first Festival of Arts of Belarusians of the World was held in 2011. It brought together almost 250 representatives of the Belarusian diaspora from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, and the USA.

The forum is held with the aim of broadly presenting Belarus, the achievements of artistic creativity, supporting projects of compatriots living in different countries, establishing contacts with them, and providing organizational and methodological assistance from state bodies and public organizations, artistic groups, cultural and art figures of Belarus.-0-
