9 November, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Inflation in Belarus in October 2012 amounted to 1.8%. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the National Statistical Committee. Thus, the consumer price index for goods and services in October 2012 compared to September was 101.8%, and compared to December 2011 - 118.1%. In September, this indicator compared to August was 101.3%. According to the forecast for 2012, inflation in Belarus is planned at the level of 19-22%. Prices for food products in October increased by 2.3% compared to September, and by 20.9% compared to December. Prices for non-food products in October increased by 1.2%, and by 9.7% compared to December. The producer price index for industrial products in October 2012 compared to September was 101.8%, and compared to December of the previous year - 118.1%, including for investment goods - 100.8% and 124.6% respectively, intermediate goods - 101.7% and 114%, consumer goods - 102.1% and 122.5%. Producer prices for agricultural products in October increased by 1.1% compared to September, and by 27.4% compared to December 2011, including in crop production - by 4% and 53.6% respectively, and in animal husbandry - by 0.1% and 20.7%. In construction, prices in October increased by 1% compared to the previous month, and by 31.2% compared to December, including for construction and installation works - by 0.5% and 36.1% respectively, for machinery and equipment - by 0.8% and 12.1%, and for other works and costs - by 4.5% and 32.4%. Freight rates for all modes of transport in October were 100.9% compared to September, and 134.1% compared to December. The index of tariffs for communication services for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in October remained at the same level compared to September, and was 123.8% compared to December. The index of prices and tariffs for paid services in October was 101.3% compared to September, and 127.8% compared to December. -0-
